Fall 2014 Couture: Christian Dior

Coats, jumpsuits and separates.

Raf Simons latest couture collection again goes against the grain of being filled solely with intricate handcrafted gowns. Simmons since his first couture collection for Dior in 2012 has been bending the perception of couture.

The clothes created are always beautiful and lovely to see, they just aren't always hand beaded, hand embroidered dresses.

Simons has found a way to make couture accessible and mixable into an everyday fall attire. The ankle length coats ranging from fur to wool can easily be mixed into the closet. The coats are a bit of a throwback with a 1990s flair.

Zippers seemed to be the accent of choice for this collection as many of the jumpsuits and separates were adorned with the accessory.

Simons while displaying some shorter length dresses is keeping with a trend I think is about to blow up in the coming months, ankle length. The days of the mini skirt may not ever end while club attire remains, however many designers are opting for a lower hem line than a higher one.

A bit of modesty no longer makes one out of date, but rather fashionable.
